HOPE MALLORCA LAUNCHES JOB FAIR

A next big step towards HELP. HOPE. LOVE. is done – HOPE Mallorca starts a job placement across national borders to offer new perspectives of hope.

The situation on the Mallorcan labour market is frightening. The number of unemployed on Mallorca has risen by 46.9% in the past 12 months, more than anywhere else in Spain. The reason for this is the island’s dependence on tourism, which has been sluggish or completely absent due to the Corona crisis.

With our European neighbours in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the situation is reversed. Holidays are mainly spent “at home”. The tourism industry could not react as quickly as “domestic” tourism did. Good and motivated staff are desperately needed.

HOPE Mallorca has recognised this potential and reacted immediately. By establishing a job exchange, workers from the Mallorcan labour market are now to be placed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where they will have a chance to work and thus find a way out of poverty.

The placed candidates not only get the opportunity to earn money again and feed their families, but can also gain further qualifications by learning and using the German language and working abroad. Thus, HOPE Mallorca has created a win-win situation that could not be more positive.

We are proud to have won LEGO, Mc Donalds and Dorint Hotels & Resorts as the first pilot partners for this project and to take the first steps together with them.

“Many thanks to Peter Bock (Mc Donalds) and Frank Schönherr (Dorint Hotels & Resorts) for your courage and your willingness to quickly and unbureaucratically break new ground for hope.”

We have already successfully filled the vacancy in LEGO Land Germany. Numerous interviews are currently being conducted with Dorint Hotels & Resorts. One candidate has already been successfully placed with Dorint.

You can find job offers from Mc Donalds and Dorint Hotels & Resorts on our job exchange
